Covid-19 Safeguards

COVID-19 Safeguards

As you are no doubt aware, the COVID-19 virus is having a significant impact on many communities around the country. Our leadership team, doctors, and staff have been closely monitoring the situation- including the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other health organizations.

We have developed a pro-active response plan that takes steps to ensure that we help protect the health and safety of our staff, patients, and customers. We want to update you on a few of these precautions:

We Remain Open to Serve You – Our practice promises to “provide the highest quality of patient care in our community.” We plan to remain open seven days a week for your health care needs. Our hours have changed during this time. Our Cleburne and Joshua locations are open Monday thru Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, and our Cleburne office is open on Saturdays, 8 am to 2 pm and Sundays from 1 pm to 4 pm for both locations for telemedicine visits only. Monday through Friday our office is open for routine visits (i.e. chronic care follow-up, medication refills, yearly physical exams). Our practice will notify you if there is any change. We will be here to help you with your health care needs.

Your Appointment – At this time, to ensure the safety of our practice and patients, we are only seeing well patients inside the building and taking extra safety precautions. Patients will be able to see their provider at their appointment time in office; we ask that you be patient with our staff through this transition. All patients will be called by our office staff to verify insurance and collect copay and then will receive a call from a clinical staff member to collect intake data and advise the patient where to park and what number to call upon arrival (if the patient is scheduled for a sick visit they will await a phone call from the provider). From there, the office staff will come out and check the patient’s temperature, ensure you the patient is wearing a mask and escort the patient to their designated patient room so that they may consult with their provider. Until further notice, our practice will not have sick patients who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms come in for their appointment unless the patient’s provider has made accommodations. Providers will see patients with urgent needs (i.e., broken bones, certain illness) after assessment via the telemedicine system. If you need to schedule an appointment, our staff is ready to assist you and is delighted to accommodate your health care needs. (Please note, due to COVID-19 pandemic it is unknown how long before we go back to in-office visits).

Injections and Routine Labs – During this time, both Cleburne and Joshua locations will be open to provide our patients with their routine lab and injection services. Hours for both locations are Monday thru Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm. Between 12 pm and 1:15 pm our lab and injections services will close for lunch. Each patient who takes advantage of these services will be heavily screened before having their labs or injections and will have a temperature checked. If you have a fever or are sick, please do not expose others and stay home.

Screening – Our office staff will continue to ask every patient who calls a series of COVID-19 questions, and we ask that you be understanding and would appreciate your cooperation during this difficult time. Screening questions are similar to the questions below and are subject to change.

  • Exposed to someone diagnosed with COVID-19.
  • Recently traveled out of the country to a high-risk country (country list updated daily on the CDC website).
  • Recently traveled on a bus, cruise ship, air travel, major international airport, or train and have a cough, fever, or shortness of breath.
  • Already examined by a local emergency room department or urgent care facility and advised to quarantine for 14 days as instructed by the CDC.

**Patients who are being seen in office will be required to wear a mask upon arrival**

Thank you for your trust in us during these challenging times. We will send updates as the situation evolves.
